Origin of the Lutosa name

Lutosa is the Latin name for "Leuze-en-Hainaut", a Walloon town in the Belgian province of Hainaut where the group has its head office. The name very aptly reflects its region of origin, which is particularly proud of its rural traditions and cultivates a taste for quality and local authenticity, perpetuating the joy of living and love of good food.

The Company initially used the name Van den Broeke in marketing its products, but there were difficulties with its pronunciation, especially in southern European countries. This was why the Van den Broeke family chose the name LUTOSA when it decided to expand its exports to southern Europe and the rest of the world.

Today Lutosa is a leading brand name known for French fries and potato-based specialities, synonymous with reliability and professionalism. What makes Lutosa so special is our high level of integration, ranging from control of the raw material to the creation, manufacture, storage and sale of superior quality finished products throughout the world.
